The IPECS Platform supports a wide range of telephones, or terminals, to ensure that you can use the most appropriate technology for your situaltion. LG-Nortels own IP phones are the suggested telephone for most applications, however the IPECS does support standard 'SIP' protocal terminals from other manufacturers as well as a range of alternatives. The WIT 300HE WiFi VoIP Phone offers the latest technology combined with modern design, allowing you to connect to the IPECS Platform over specified Wireless Access Points. This type of terminal is great for 'Road Warriors', those who travel frequently, and Homeworkers who require the freedom a wireless terminal offers. PC Based Phones LG-Nortel offers a PC Based phone call Phontage, which is a multi-media communication tool using a PC, PDA or Symbian Smartphone. This gives you an onscreen virtual telephone which can link with other communications related PC applications. All the features of the IP multi-button desk phone are available to the user and can even be linked to the users desk phone so both will ring when a call comes to the extension. 'SIP' Termainls The IPECS platform is open to telephones from other manufacturers by implementing the internationally recognised 'SIP' standard. This allows you to gain basic functionality such as call answer, transfer and hold using other 'SIP' telephones. Legacy Telephone Support As well as supporting the LIP-8000 Series, PC Based, WiFi and SIP telephones the IPECS Platform can also work with a number of older, 'legacy' phones from LG-Nortel, (formerly LG Electronics / GOLDSTAR). The IPECS often requires the use of Gateway modules to connect theses legacy telephones.
